Director of Tennis: John Letts
John is a former
all-American tennis player at Stanford, where he received a
full scholarship after winning the U.S. National Championship for juniors 18
& under. He competed on the ATP Tour and in the main draws of
Wimbledon, French & U.S. Opens. He reached the quarterfinals of the
Australian Open doubles and won doubles titles at Tel Aviv, Brest, San Luis
Potosi, and Singapore among others. He competed against
Edberg,
McEnroe, Becker,
Sampras, Courier and many other top players in his 5 years on tour. He
still competes locally and at age 37 was the
#1 ranked open doubles player
in Southern California in 2001.
With two daughters (ages 11 and 12) just
beginning tennis, he is committed to creating a flourishing tennis community
in Pasadena. |
Co- Director of Tennis: Genya Trosman
Originally from the Ukraine, Genya is a second
generation tennis professional. He was a top-ranked junior player in
the Ukraine, where he earned his degree in physical education, with a
specialty in professional tennis coaching from Kiev State University in
Kiev, Ukraine. From the Ukraine he next went to Portland, Oregon where
he was the Director of Tennis at the Clackamas River Racquet Club. He
has twenty years of professional teaching experience all over the world
including Canada, Italy, the Ukraine & the United States. He has
substantial experience working with top ranked Sectional and National
Players. While in the Pacific Northwest his players ranked 1, 2 & 3 in
the Pacific Northwest in the 14s & 16s and top 5 in the nation. He
moved from the Pacific Northwest to Southern California in 2002.

Development coach:
Mike Gealer
Mike has been teaching for over 25 years, most recently at Glassell Park
in Los Angeles. Prior to that Mike was the head pro at Los Coyotes
club in Buena Park. Mike has a passion for teaching proper technique.
He has two great kids who have excelled under Mike's direction - Sarah Gealer, who is the #1 ranked player in So. California in 2005 in the Girls
10 and under division and Danny Gealer, who is currently the second highest
ranked 8 year old in So. California.

Elite Performance Coach:
Kelly Gullett
Kelly is a three time
All-American and played #1 singles and #1 doubles for Pepperdine University.
He was an NCAA finalist in doubles and received the John Van Nostrand Award
- a grant given to the senior college player who best embodies the ideals of
the student athlete. On the pro tour, Kelly achieved a ranking in the
top 250 in the world in doubles with a win at the
$50,000 Bronx challenger
and runner-up finishes at the
$50,000 Aptos challenger,
$50,000 Knoxville
Challenger and
$25,000 Kyoto Challenger. Among
his wins were three doubles victories over current top 40 player James Blake
(3-0 record!). He has experience teaching players of all ages and
abilities but specializes in advanced tournament players. |

Maureen
Diaz
Maureen is one of Southern California's top women's open players.
She is a recent graduate of USC where she played #3 singles. She is a
1999 graduate of Mayfield Senior High in Pasadena, Calif. where she was a
four-time all-league honoree and named the league’s MVP each season.
Currently she works with a number of top junior girls players in Southern
California when she is not competing on the WTA tour.

Nadine Felix
Originally from France, Nadine is an expert in French training methods.
She has taught for many years at the prestigious Monte Carlo country club
prior to joining Rose Bowl Tennis. A real tennis fanatic, Nadine
specializes in beginning kids and adults. She also serves as the
operations manager for Rose Bowl tennis. You'll be talking to her soon
!

Instructors:
Hasani Simmons
A native of Pasadena, Hasani was an
accomplished junior player and competed for two years on the Glendale
Community College team. Currently, Hasani is finishing his classes and
will transfer to a 4 year university where he can compete an additional two
years while earning is undergraduate degree. Hasani teaches both kids
and adults. Stefan
Studer
A native of Switzerland, Stefan is a professional photographer in the
'real world' but finds time to follow his passion for tennis and kids.
H enjoys competing himself in local Southern Cal men's tournaments.
And besides tennis and photography, Stefan is also a certified ski
instructor.
